Mythocritique et hypertextualité : le cas des Quatre Cavaliers de l’Apocalypse dans la série télévisée Supernatural

Abstract

Dans la série télévisée Supernatural, tout comme dans la Bible, l’Apocalypse est une série de violences et de désordres cosmiques qui précèdent la fin du monde. Le livre de l’Apocalypse, le dernier livre de la Bible, et, plus particulièrement l’épisode des Quatre Cavaliers de l’Apocalypse, peuvent servir d’exemple afin d’amorcer une réflexion sur le rapport entre le texte biblique et le « texte » filmique (cinquième saison de la série télévisée Supernatural), et ce, à travers une double lecture relevant à la fois de la mythocritique et de l’analyse narrative.

Both in Supernatural TV series and in the Bible, the Apocalypse is a series of disastrous events leading up to and including the end of the world. The book of the Apocalypse, last book of the Bible, and more particularly, the episode of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse can serve as an example in order to begin a joint examination of the biblical text through a mythocritical and narrative analysis especially when these two types of analysis are applied on the TV series Supernatural (season 5).
