The aim is to provide a high-level scientific discussion forum where academic researchers can explore the latest trends in international philological, literary, linguistic and translation-related Hispanism.</p> <p><em>Cuadernos AISPI</em> publishes original scientific papers (preferably in Spanish) following a favourable report by <strong>two anonymous reviewers</strong>. Manuscripts can also be accepted in Italian, Catalan, Portuguese and, exceptionally, in other languages. Titles, abstracts and keywords are also published in English to make works easier to locate and streamline their international outreach.</p> <p>The journal is published <strong>twice a year</strong> (in July and December), in both<strong> digital and hard-copy (paper) formats</strong>, with <strong>open access</strong>. Each issue contains a <strong>monograph section, </strong>alternating between Language or Translation and Literature or Culture, covering topics of particular interest for the relevant fields, jointly supervised by an Italian editor and AISPI member and another highly reputed editor from abroad. This topic section may include papers, interviews and notes. It examines both the internal structure of her narrative thought and the external form of its fragmentary nature. With an affinity for this controversial approach, Carmen Martín Gaite researched the role of a precursor of the Age of Enlightenment, persecuted by the Inquisition, and introduced a particular form of writing amidst many theoretical and pragmatic doubts. With her double competence as a historian and novelist, after a meticulous archival work, in 1969 she published <em>El proceso de Macanaz</em>.<em> Historia de un empapelamiento</em>, a non-fictional political biography in an uncommon style. This work aims to demonstrate that the daring use of first-person enunciation and of both informal and literary register does not affect the referential veracity of the work. It will be shown how it dialogues with the preceding conferences in the aforementioned volume and, in general, with the literary thought that Martín Gaite articulates in her essays. The focus of this work –primarily a tribute– is the impact that Ignacio Aldecoa’s death had on Martín Gaite, as well as the desire for intergeneration dialogue that guided the author. Tirando del hilo (artículos 1949-2000), edited by José Teruel and published by Siruela in 2006, and in Agua pasada (1993), Carmen Martín Gaite actively and consistently practiced the art of literary criticism through her writing career. In particular, her weekly Diario 16 articles (1976-80) reveal the author’s deep engagement with literary analysis and her understanding of cultural and political changes during this time, which also coincides with the Salamanca author’s increased visibility on the world literature stage. This study analyzes, through the time period of the “Transition” and the lens of Second Wave feminism, Martín Gaite’s articles that serve as book reviews of works by other Spanish women. Following the proposals for semantic decolonization of textual codes, we offer to think the oral textus not as a regressive derivation of litterae, but as the tissue that complements the written tesitura; therefore, we consider different levels of texts, broadening the criteria that define ‘intertextual’ practices. In their productions it is possible to observe different modulation around spaces and the relationship of the poetic subject with the diverse territories that it inhabits and poetizes. From the “urban landscapes” of the Asturian, which determine a matrix of urban poetry that runs through his poetry collections in a historicist key, both as a testimonial and ironic one; passing through the suffocating interior and provincial worlds that clearly mark the initial poems of Martín Gaite and end up in the New York city as a site of identity searches; to the vein of urban poetry that renews in Beneyto’s work the plural facets of the subject that determined her early work, and turns towards the city, its actors and spaces most relegated in the social line of her production.
