Abstract

The article elaborates on the relationship between margin and centre, which has a long and noble history within the social sciences and philosophy of the 20th century, especially in its urban declination. To this end, the author reflects in dialogue with the works of two strongly dissimilar intellectuals, each of whom offers, through their own writings, a highly original vision of the problem: on the one hand Michel de Certeau, Jesuit and scholar of the history of the Society of Jesus, a great connoisseur of Flemish and Spanish mysticism, and also a linguist, ethnologist and psychoanalyst, and on the other Diamela Eltit, Chilean writer.
