Drawing on fieldwork on support and rehabilitation work with asylum seekers and refugees in an ethnopsychiatry center in Turin, Italy, as well as on considerations gained in the course of counseling and training interventions for social and health workers who, in various institutions, deal in various capacities with migrants, this article investigates the consequences for individuals and communities of regime and mass violence, focusing on the emergence of memory paradigms centered on the notion of trauma.
