The Naga-Har reception centre for asylum seekers, the prisons of San Vittore and Bollate are some of the places touched by Kebba Suwareh, a refugee from The Gambia. In 2007, after receiving a deportation order, Kebba left Italy for Spain and Portugal and moved to Switzerland. The article reconstructs his trajectory within the European borders and explores how people like Kebba react to the policies of exclusion with no prospect of returning home or stabilising their stay in Europe.
