Developed by the Danish NGO 'Stop the Violence' in 2000, the Living Library methodology is now widespread in more than 40 countries in order to promote intercultural understanding through dialogue. This article presents an educational activity centered on the Living Library carried out between first-year enrollees of the Bachelor's Degree in Professional Educators ('Readers') and about fifty people over 70 years of age (the 'Books').The purpose of the activity was to introduce the student(s) to the methods of ethnographic research and applied anthropology; also, in a theoretical perspective, to understand whether this activity, which was created to promote social inclusion, can be used to increase dialogue, knowledge and anthropological understanding of aging.
