The paper explores the complex narratives surrounding contemporary wars, emphasizing the need for critical engagement from scholars. They analyze the hegemonic discourses promoted by governments and corporations, juxtaposed with counter-rhetorics that challenge traditional views of war and peace. The works highlight the moral dilemmas and ethical considerations inherent in war, using examples from epic literature and modern conflicts to illustrate the pervasive and enduring impact of violence on society. The contributions aim to bridge the gap between economic-political explanations and sociobiological assumptions, advocating for a nuanced understanding of war's moral and cultural dimensions.
