Abstract

This article explores the transgressive nature of midwifery practice, highlighting the conscious emphasis on intuition by postmodern midwives. It discusses how midwives navigate between biomedical language and holistic philosophies to challenge authoritative knowledge in childbirth. The study reveals the contradictions within rationality in the field of birth and underscores the importance of diverse, cross-cultural perspectives in understanding midwifery practices.
