Abstract

After a short reflection on anthropology's different approaches to art, this introduction offers an overview of the essays contained in the volume. The essays address different themes with different sensitivities and approaches but are all united by a common focus on the political dimension of art and the role that art plays in articulating the relationships between societies and cultures.
