Era la stagione delle piogge e la luce del giorno illuminava tutto il villaggio di Beyin, capitale dello Western Nzema, dove abitavo durante la mia ricerca sul campo. Nuvole gonfie di pioggia oscuravano il cielo fin dall’alba preannunciando l’imminente arrivo di un temporale. Diversi sacerdoti guaritori (in nzema: ahømenle sing. : kømenle) si erano radunati in un spiazzo ai margini della boscaglia che circonda il villaggio; alcuni di loro scrutavano preoccupati il cielo cercando di intravedervi improbabili segni di un miglioramento. Intanto altra gente sopraggiungeva. Tutti sembravano in attesa di comprendere se la cerimonia prevista per quel giorno si sarebbe tenuta.Downloads
