Intercultural aspects of possession

The article discusses the complexity of possession in various contexts, proposing a provisional definition of it as a condition in which an individual behaves like a different person. By examining shamanic and vodou rituals, among others, the author highlights differences between desired and undesired possessions, outlining the challenges of academic analysis of such phenomena and the potential recording tools.
