Rafael Morales writes to Oreste Macrí (eleven unpublished letters)

These eleven unpublished letters trace over a period of more than forty years (1952-95) the relationship of esteem and friendship that united the poet Rafael Morales with the Italian critic and translator Oreste Macrí. The edition we offer, which is extensively annotated, attempts to reconstruct its context, assessing the reception of the poetic work and following its iter of translation. References to books, prizes and tributes alternate with comments on the poetry and more personal reflections or memories of mutual friends.
