Abstract

In the light of new sociolinguistic approaches, the volume we propose aims to address issues linked to discursive and socio-cognitive aspects, manifested in the new varieties of Spanish that have arisen as a result of the massive movement of speakers from different Spanish-speaking regions to European and American countries. Migration, which brings speakers of different origins into contact with each other, makes it possible not only for different languages but also for varieties of the same language to meet, and becomes a breeding ground for variation and linguistic change.
