Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the types of errors in reading and writing in 110 Italian monolingual and bilingual students (Italian / Spanish) in order to discriminate the specific difficulties in acquiring the skills of literacy and how those difficulties are related with linguistic attitudes. For data collection, it has been provided a questionnaire and a battery of standardized tests in six courses of 4th and 5th grade of primary school, located in an area of the city of Genova where a large number of people of Latin American origin live.
