Linguistic attitudes toward Spanish in the United States on YouTube comments

The objective of this exploratory study, based on a cognitive sociolinguistics approach, is to explore the linguistic attitudes toward Spanish in the United States, through a qualitative analysis of a corpus of comments posted by users who identify themselves as Latinos on the YouTube broadcast channels of Univisión and Telemundo. By studying different video comments, we try to identify their attitudes and beliefs toward Spanish in the US, and in relation to the latino social identity.
