Galdós in Italy for a century and a half. Italian translations from 1874 until 2000 and a penìnsula to the new millennium

This paper aims to provide an overview of Benito Pérez Galdós’s editions printed by Italian publishers from 1874 to 2000, with a brief foray into the first fifteen years of the new millennium. In order to do so, we will give and accoun of both the translated texts and the active publishing houses in the considered time span; moreover, we will draw a balance of Galdós’s presence in our country to point out how the Spanish author has become a classic, even though he is known mostly by specialists.
