spanishAbstract
The paper aims to study the term transfobia as a lexical trend in the language of the mass media. An interpretive analysis of the term is offered in the headlines of four Spanish digital newspapers of opposite ideology that report on the HazteOír campaign in Spain in 2017. The hypothesis is formulated in two ways: it is proposed that the transfobia lexical unit is transferred as a paradigm in the written mass media for its synthetic potential; those newspapers use the term transfobia based on the ideology of the newspaper. Methodologically we combine the quantitative and interpretive approach, using the methodological instruments of Critical Discourse Analysis.
