11. Cultural elements in translation: Romanticismo by Manuel Longares and the stigmas of (un)translatability

Are there any elements that may preclude the translation of a literary text? The hypothesis is that if the most typical elements of the culture (culturemes) of the original text occur at a high frequency, they can lead to the untranslatability of the text itself. Based on theoretical considerations that have been developed from the 80, the article wants to prove the above mentioned hypothesis through the analysis of a possible translation from Spanish into Italian of Manuel Longares’ novel Romanticismo.
