The concept of orality in the translation of Italian pop music: two approaches

This paper studies the translation of orality by means of the analysis of four Italian songs from the sixties and their version into Spanish. The methodological approach will be based on two different perspectives, both present in the definition of orality proposed by Cebrián Alberola (2012: 606). In order to illustrate our theory, we will analyze, firstly, the concept of singability (Low 2003) as a synonym of orality. Secondly, we will examine orality understood as the imitation of spoken language.
